The two speeches by Giorgos Seferis delivered during the Nobel Prize award ceremony in Literature at the Swedish Academy in 1963, translated into Italian by Maria Caracausi. On the occasion of his award, Seferis talks about modern Greek tradition, Hellenicity, and the Greek language.
The edition also includes, in Italian translation, Seferis's two poems, "The King of Aegina" and "The Cats of St. Nicholas," as well as an afterword and a chronology of Seferis's life, by the poet and critic Dimitris Daskalopoulos.
