In the landscapes of our homeland, I stop, look, and recognize the places where battles were fought and the history of modern Greece was written.

Simple people, who live in the mountains, in the villages, on the islands of this land, and others, expatriates, intellectuals, merchants, military personnel, all, for centuries now, are connected and struggle, because they have nothing else on their minds but "freedom and language."

We forget that only 200 years separate us from the revolution of 1821. Perhaps because we come from a culture that makes us feel free even when we are besieged.
