The internet is a modern yet risky playground that holds a special allure for children and young people. The global web of electronic possibilities is, for children with their innate tendency for discovery, a first-class playground.

Children can communicate through chat rooms, play together in electronic environments, meet on social networks, create their own media content to express their ideas, e.g., weblogs, YouTube and learn through electronic sources.

Therefore, it is good for young people to develop a positive yet critical attitude towards the internet and to focus on acquiring digital literacy, which is a key skill in the information and knowledge society.
