Stay away, guys, don't buy it, I've experienced it myself. It has a problem that doesn't occur for everyone, but you might be "lucky". Specifically, if I shut down the PC and then open it after a few hours, it doesn't detect the hard drive or the BIOS. I either have to reboot multiple times or cut off the power and turn it back on. You'll find more details in the following thread opened by WD themselves, who haven't provided any response.

Μακρια παιδια μην τον αγορασετε, εγω την επαθα. Εχει ενα προβλημα που δεν το βγαζει σε ολους αλλα μπορει να ειστε "τυχεροι". Συγκεκριμενα αν κλεισω το PC και μετα απο ωρες το ανοιξω τοτε δεν βρισκει τον σκληρο ουτε το BIOS. Θα πρεπει είτε να κανω αρκετα reboot ειτε να κοψω το ρευμα κι να το ξαναδωσω. Πιο πολλα θα βρειτε στο παρακατω thread που εχει ανοιξει στην ιδια τηνς WD η οποια δεν εχει δωσει καμια απαντηση.

It entered the 11th generation NUC and works flawlessly. If it was going into my main system, I would either get the version with the cooler or install an aftermarket one, but for use in this specific system, it is not necessary.

I bought the disc for 133+ euros a week ago. The amazing store is another story. The amazing disc is the present. I tried to clone my system from the previous one (850PRO) but I couldn't do it, so I spent a lovely afternoon doing a clean installation as the experts say...
The disc does what it advertises: it speeds up. With a mid-range system, Tuf Gaming x570 plus motherboard on Profile 1 factory settings, Ryzen 3600x on factory settings, Crucial Ballistix 32GB RAM at 3600MHz automatically with Profile 1, the disc wrote 5220Mb/s read -- 3150Mb/s write on the first installation. After a couple of days searching for ways to improve the system's communication, I made some minor improvements for SSD disks and most importantly!: download the WD SSD Dashboard from the official site for free, of course. The application fully checks the disc's condition, offering various settings and the ability to update the driver for Windows as well as the disc's firmware for better performance.
Result:
See in the photo. 6117Mb/s read -- 3175Mb/s write, and according to the application, at 40 to 45 degrees Celsius.
I think after this, I need an RX 6800xt and I'm done.... ;-)

Με ενα μεσαιο συστημα, Tuf Gaming x570 plus μητρικη σε Profile 1 εργοστασιακων βελτιωσεων, Ryzen 3600x σε εργοστασιακες ρυθμισεις, μνημες RAM Crusial Ballistix 32GB σε 3600MHz αυτοματως με το Profile1 , ο δισκος εγραψε 5220Μb/s read -- 3150Mb/s write με την πρωτη τοποθετηση. Μετα απο μια δυο μερες ψαχνοντας σχετικα με την βελτιωση της επικοινωνιας των μερων του συστηματος εκανα καποιες υποτυπωδεις βελτιωσεις για SSD δισκους και το βασικοτερο !: κατεβαστε το WD SSD Dashboard απο το επισημο site δωρεαν βεβαια. Η εφαρμογη ελεγχει πληρως την κατασταση του δισκου διαθετοντας διαφορες ρυθμισεις πανω του και δινοντας τη δυνατοτητα να ενημερωσετε τον driver για τα Windows καθως και το firmware του δισκου για καλυτερη αποδοση.
Αποτελεσμα;

Purchase of 5x 2TB at the end of May 2022 as they were cheaper than the equivalent Samsung Pro.
In December 2023, one of them suddenly stops working, the computer doesn't even detect it. It was sent with RMA to Western Digital and was replaced with a new SN850X.
End of May 2025, a second drive fails with exactly the same symptoms, draw your own conclusions.
Edit: End of May 2026, a third drive failed with exactly the same symptoms.

Δεκέμβριο του 2023 σταματάει να λειτουργεί ο ένας από αυτούς ξαφνικά, δεν τον εντοπίζει καν ο υπολογιστής, Στάλθηκε με RMA στην Western Digital και έγινε αντικατάσταση με καινούριο SN850X.
Τέλη Μαΐου 2025, χαλάει δεύτερος δίσκος με ακριβώς τα ίδια συμπτώματα, τα συμπεράσματα δικά σας.
Edit: Τέλη Μαϊου 2026 χάλασε και τρίτος δίσκος με ακριβώς τα ίδια συμπτώματα.

Μετά από 1 χρόνο χρήσης θεωρώ ότι είναι αρκετά καλός αλλά σε κανένα τεστ δεν έχει φτάσει σε 7000 MB/s αλλά μέγιστο 6700 MB/s εγγραφή σε z790 chipset.
Σίγουρα ο επόμενος SN850X είναι καλύτερος.

Stay away, guys, don't buy it, I've experienced it myself. It has a problem that doesn't occur for everyone, but you might be "lucky". Specifically, if I shut down the PC and then open it after a few hours, it doesn't detect the hard drive or the BIOS. I either have to reboot multiple times or cut off the power and turn it back on. You'll find more details in the following thread opened by WD themselves, who haven't provided any response.

Μακρια παιδια μην τον αγορασετε, εγω την επαθα. Εχει ενα προβλημα που δεν το βγαζει σε ολους αλλα μπορει να ειστε "τυχεροι". Συγκεκριμενα αν κλεισω το PC και μετα απο ωρες το ανοιξω τοτε δεν βρισκει τον σκληρο ουτε το BIOS. Θα πρεπει είτε να κανω αρκετα reboot ειτε να κοψω το ρευμα κι να το ξαναδωσω. Πιο πολλα θα βρειτε στο παρακατω thread που εχει ανοιξει στην ιδια τηνς WD η οποια δεν εχει δωσει καμια απαντηση.

It entered the 11th generation NUC and works flawlessly. If it was going into my main system, I would either get the version with the cooler or install an aftermarket one, but for use in this specific system, it is not necessary.
No complaints, it functions as it should.
Μπήκε σε NUC 11ης γενιάς και δουλεύει απροβλημάτιστα. Αν έμπαινε στο βασικό μου σύστημα θα έπαιρνα την έκδοση με την ψύκτρα ή θα εγκαθιστούσα aftermarket αλλά για την χρήση στο συγκεκριμένο σύστημα δεν χρειάζεται.
Κανένα παράπονο, λειτουργεί όπως πρέπει.

Also, it would be good for the motherboard to have a heatsink because it gets quite hot due to its high speed. Or, if used in a console, there is also a version that comes with its own heatsink, it will just be a bit more expensive.
Έχεις κουραστεί να περιμένεις πάνω από δύο λεπτά να φορτώσουν τα Windows; Ε λοιπόν τώρα θα είναι έτοιμα σε 2 δευτερόλεπτα, κυριολεκτικά. Να σημειωθεί όμως ότι δεν έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί ούτε το μισό του αποθηκευτικού του χώρου. Επίσης, καλό θα ήταν η μητρική να έχει και heatsink διότι θερμαίνεται αρκετά από την μεγάλη ταχύτητά του. Ή αν χρησιμοποιηθεί σε κονσόλα υπάρχει και η έκδοση που έρχεται με δικιά της heatsink, απλά θα είναι λίγο πιο ακριβή.
