Description

The esteemed president of the Saxony court, Dr. Schreber, a leading figure among the Freudian patients, one day begins to rave: he must transform into a woman and engage in passive copulation, for this is the only condition to save the world, despite the objections raised by a God capable of understanding only from corpses. His fantasies are not hidden and fleeting. He will defend them to the point of publishing them - despite censorship - in a book. Without ever having personally met the patient, Freud will find a marvelous opportunity to apply and verify his basic psychoanalytic insights. Under a delusion of persecution that turns into a delusion of grandeur, beneath the worship and hatred of the father’s image, which becomes that of the doctor, which in turn becomes that of God, through the frustration caused by paternal and sibling loss, Freud traces the movement of repressed homoerotic desire that leads to paranoid symptomatology.
