"Che" was first published in Argentina in 1968, just one year after the death of Che Guevara. It became extremely popular (tens of thousands of copies in a short period of time), and was also released in other Latin American countries, such as Brazil and Chile. Esteheld and Brescia, members of the artistic avant-garde in Argentina, managed to condense the revolutionary's life into a demanding work, which is an excellent example of artistic synthesis and abstraction, a masterpiece in the history of comics.

The work was banned in Argentina by the military dictatorship (1976-1983), all copies were confiscated, and even the originals were destroyed. During the dictatorship in Argentina, owning such a comic could be dangerous for one's life. One of the tens of thousands of people who disappeared during that period was the great humanist and author of this work, Hector Esteheld, who was arrested by the army in 1977 and disappeared.

In "Che", not only the life of Che Guevara is described, but also an era of great political and social utopias, when the impossible seemed possible.

The edition includes a chronology of Che Guevara's life, as well as an extremely interesting interview with the designer Enrique Brescia, the only surviving contributor of the work.
