Description

They are twelve and live on Olympus, yet they are everywhere. Behind the storm and the lightning, in the depths and the waves of the sea, in the roar and the horror of war. They play in the dense forests with the wild animals, their hearts beat strongly next to the lovers. They have bows, they shoot their arrows far, they sit with us at the table for dinner in the evening. Others have regular jobs like us, they are farmers, postmen, blacksmiths. They are wise, but they also make mistakes. Six men and the rest women. If you are human, they resemble you a lot, you will see. Only they are taller and somewhat stronger. In the book you hold in your hands, the gods themselves speak about themselves! It's incredible... I am Zeus I am Poseidon I am Apollo I am Hephaestus I am Hermes I am Ares

I had everything. Nothing was missing from me. Sea, land, sky—all mine. Did I want something? I reached out my hand and took it. In the other, I held a thunderbolt. With it, I could electrify anyone I wanted. People and gods both feared and respected me. Because I am Zeus, father of gods and humans. People believed in me very much. They also called me Xenios, meaning the god of hospitality. Without them, I would be nothing. I would almost not exist. That is also the reason I loved them. And I still love them, as I love the sea, the mountains, and the air we all breathe, gods and humans alike.
