To understand German fascism, we must return to Ricardian England. Karl Polanyi

A collection of texts by the famous thinker that cover the period from 1923 to 1960, which either directly address fascism or discuss its causes and consequences.

In both his seminal work The Great Transformation and many other writings, Karl Polanyi references fascism, Nazism, or corporatism; however, in the selected texts that make up this book, his related positions are clearer and more analytical.

The collection is also significantly enriched by important articles from the same period concerning the work of Marx, regional planning in the post-war era, as well as the issue of freedom. Most of these had not been published during his lifetime and are included in the digital archive of the "Karl Polanyi" Institute of Political Economy at Concordia University in Montreal, which holds the author's manuscripts, as well as in the archive of his daughter Kari Polanyi-Levitt.
