Description

Harry Sheldon, the visionary scientist and father of the science of psychohistory, was able to predict the collapse of the Galactic Empire and the centuries of chaos and barbarism that would follow. Aiming to restore civilization to the Galaxy as soon as possible, Sheldon founded two Foundations.

The First Foundation was established on Terminus, openly and publicly. But the Second Foundation was founded at "the other end of the Galaxy," under the utmost secrecy. Because the Second Foundation preserves the laws of psychohistory, which only hold true as long as they remain secret...

When the First Foundation was defeated by a force that Harry Sheldon had not anticipated - the mental abilities of a unique individual, the mutant Mule - the Second Foundation was forced to reveal its existence and, even worse, part of its power. Until now, the location of the Second Foundation has remained a secret.

Both the Mule and the remnants of the First Foundation will do everything to discover it... and destroy it. However, none of them realize that the survival of the Second Foundation depends on the very success of the Sheldon Plan and the future of humanity...

The third part of Isaac Asimov's epic, which defined the evolution of an entire species, was honored with the Hugo award as the top sci-fi series of all time and rightfully secured a place among the masterpieces of modern literature.

Review this product
  • Paper quality
  • Was it easy to read?
  • I liked the writing style
  • I would read a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for reading
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • Another book by Asimov that takes you far away from your world and relaxes you. The only downside is a long boring scene that it lingered on too much, which caused me to put it down once and almost again. If it weren't a trilogy, I would give it 3 stars, but because of the imagination and the world he has built, it deserves 4 stars. The "universe" of Foundation continues with other books. It doesn't stop at the trilogy.
