Machinations, secret deals, corrupt bankers, ruthless brokers.
When her boss rejects her latest proposal, Verity Banks, a senior executive at the World Bank, devises the ultimate business revenge: to breach the computerized security systems and hide some money somewhere no one can trace it, to demonstrate to upper management how easy it is to embezzle large sums of money. But then the financial ace Dr. Zoltan Tor, Verity's former mentor, raises the stakes even higher. He proposes that they steal from one billion dollars, invest it with the aim of making thirty million within a few months, and return the original amount before anyone notices it's missing. And to make the challenge more interesting, they add an element of competition between them - with Dr. Tor granting an advantage to his charismatic protégé: she can commit the heist via computer, while he cannot...
