In general, it is a very good series that children like. My daughter is 7 years old and she loves reading them. It has magic, adventure, mystery, and keeps her interest undiminished. However, it has quite a few mistakes (spelling, grammatical, and syntactical) that an older child would notice.

I'm sorry but the book is not for children. It is very bad through a fairy tale to talk to children about magic, dark magic, evil, etc... there are so many fairy tales that can talk about so many beautiful things. I did not like the concept at all, no matter how well written it is... I would not read a similar book to my child again.

10 years old and read 1 & 2 in a day and a half!! She kept talking to us about the adventures she read. My daughter is very excited! My only objection is that this book (like children's series etc.) talks about magic, something I don't consider right or Christian. I will read it too and depending on that, either we will get the next ones or we will find another book by the same author.

Looking at the cover, you expect the inside to be illustrated the same way... the whole book is in black and white...

From 6+ years old, girl, rich text, minimal illustration, and multiple pages for a parent or a 9-year-old child to read. It refers to magic but conveys messages of overcoming fears, courage, etc. It keeps the interest intact
