Regarding the development of the plot, one could predict the outcome of the story to some extent; however, some events that occur towards the end, many would not be able to imagine. Generally, I wouldn't say it has any significant negative aspect, except for the descriptions of the protagonist's emotional state, which are quite repetitive. I recommend it to those who are fans of the genre, as well as to those who would like to read an interesting story that also contains the Greek element.

A relatively good book in the footsteps of the silent patient. However, I found it more hasty and rushed. The twist at the end I think touched the limit of the excessive and perhaps exceeded it. Nice descriptions without being tiring, it can be comfortably read in 1-2 days pleasantly.

I read it after first getting to know Alex Michaelides' pen through his first book, "The Silent Patient". The same motif follows here. With small letters and action. It is a punch of a novel, literally. I liked it more than his first novel. It left me with mixed feelings, not regarding the story, the suspense, the twists. In that aspect, it was a perfect ten. I just found myself thinking about various things regarding life, people, and especially about the heroes of his story. The final twist is something that I am still thinking about... the funny thing is that it had crossed my mind but I dismissed it almost immediately because I didn't believe it could happen in the end. And yet, many times life throws you off balance, makes you reflect on the connections of the people around us, on the social, friendly, and romantic relationships we develop. And perhaps the disappointment we feel from some is the path to see who truly deserves it! He created a wonderful universe, with references to ancient Greek tragedy, through the landscapes of Cambridge, and he immersed us in its pages. Fun fact for all those who have read "The Silent Patient" first is that the hero from that novel appears in this one in some chapters, connecting the universe of the two stories. I found it wonderful as an idea. Don't think about it at all. It's worth it!

Ειναι ενα μυθιστορημα γροθια, κυριολεκτικα. Μου αρεσε περισσοτερο απο το πρωτο μυθιστορημα του. Με αφησε με αναμεικτα συναισθηματα, οχι ως προς την ιστορια, το σασπενς, τις ανατροπες. Σε αυτο ηταν δεκαρι πραγματικο. Απλα καπως μπηκα στη διαδικασια να σκεφτω διαφορα για τη ζωη, τους ανθρωπους και ειδικα για τους ηρωες της ιστοριας του. Η τελικη ανατροπη ειναι κατι που ακομα σκεφτομαι... το αστειο ειναι πως μου ειχε περασει απο το νου αλλα το απερριψα σχεδον αμεσως διοτι δεν πιστεψα πως μπορει να συμβει στο τελος. Κι ομως, πολλες φορες η ζωη σε βγαζει απο τον αξονα σου, σε κανει να αναλογιστεις για τις συνδεσεις των ανθρωπων γυρω μας, για τις κοινωνικες, φιλικες, ερωτικες σχεσεις που αναπτυσσουμε. Και ισως η απογοητευση που νιωθουμε απο καποιους, να ειναι ο δρομος για να δουμε ποιοι πραγματικα αξιζουν !!! Εφτιαξε ενα συμπαν υπεροχο, με αναφορες στην αρχαια ελληνικη τραγωδια, μεσα απο τοπια του Κεμπριτζ και μας εβαλε μεσα στις σελιδες του. Fun fact για ολους οσοι εχουν διαβασει πρωτα τη "σιωπηλη ασθενη" ειναι πως ο ηρωας απο εκεινο το μυθιστορημα εμφανιζεται και σε αυτο σε καποια κεφαλαια, ενωνοντας το συμπαν των δυο ιστοριων. Το βρηκα υπεροχο σαν ιδεα. Μην το σκεφτεστε καθολου. Αξιζει !!!

Fun fact for all those who have read "The Silent Patient" first is that the hero from that novel appears in this one in some chapters, connecting the universe of the two stories. I found it wonderful as an idea. Don't think about it at all. It's worth it!
Το διαβασα αφου πρωτα γνωρισα την πενα του Alex Michaelides μεσω του πρωτου βιβλιου, "Η σιωπηλη ασθενης". Ακολουθει το ίδιο μοτιβο κι εδω. Με μικρα κεφαλαια και δραση. Ειναι ενα μυθιστορημα γροθια, κυριολεκτικα. Μου αρεσε περισσοτερο απο το πρωτο μυθιστορημα του. Με αφησε με αναμεικτα συναισθηματα, οχι ως προς την ιστορια, το σασπενς, τις ανατροπες. Σε αυτο ηταν δεκαρι πραγματικο. Απλα καπως μπηκα στη διαδικασια να σκεφτω διαφορα για τη ζωη, τους ανθρωπους και ειδικα για τους ηρωες της ιστοριας του. Η τελικη ανατροπη ειναι κατι που ακομα σκεφτομαι... το αστειο ειναι πως μου ειχε περασει απο το νου αλλα το απερριψα σχεδον αμεσως διοτι δεν πιστεψα πως μπορει να συμβει στο τελος. Κι ομως, πολλες φορες η ζωη σε βγαζει απο τον αξονα σου, σε κανει να αναλογιστεις για τις συνδεσεις των ανθρωπων γυρω μας, για τις κοινωνικες, φιλικες, ερωτικες σχεσεις που αναπτυσσουμε. Και ισως η απογοητευση που νιωθουμε απο καποιους, να ειναι ο δρομος για να δουμε ποιοι πραγματικα αξιζουν !!! Εφτιαξε ενα συμπαν υπεροχο, με αναφορες στην αρχαια ελληνικη τραγωδια, μεσα απο τοπια του Κεμπριτζ και μας εβαλε μεσα στις σελιδες του. Fun fact για ολους οσοι εχουν διαβασει πρωτα τη "σιωπηλη ασθενη" ειναι πως ο ηρωας απο εκεινο το μυθιστορημα εμφανιζεται και σε αυτο σε καποια κεφαλαια, ενωνοντας το συμπαν των δυο ιστοριων. Το βρηκα υπεροχο σαν ιδεα. Μην το σκεφτεστε καθολου. Αξιζει !!!
Very mediocre. No comparison to its predecessor, the silent patient. Quite boring, depressing. Without any surprises. I understood the ending from the middle of the book.

Simply EXCELLENT! Personally, I liked it much more than the silent patient. It keeps you alert throughout the reading and you can't put it down. As for the ending, it is definitely disruptive and unpredictable. I highly recommend it!

Soon, Marianna will realize that this murder is a multifaceted incident. At the same time, she will have to confront her dark past in the search for the truth; will she succeed? And how are the Eleusinian Mysteries involved in this murder? The strong point of the book is its atmosphere. The combination of the theme: university, mystery, and Greek mythology is what makes the book something different. Regarding the development of the plot, one could predict the outcome of the story to some extent; however, some events that occur towards the end, many would not be able to imagine. Generally, I wouldn't say it has any significant negative aspect, except for the descriptions of the protagonist's emotional state, which are quite repetitive. I recommend it to those who are fans of the genre, as well as to those who would like to read an interesting story that also contains the Greek element.

Το προτείνω σε όσους είναι λάτρεις του είδους, αλλά και σε όσους θα ήθελαν να διαβάσουν μια ενδιαφέρουσα ιστορία που περιέχει και το ελληνικό στοιχείο.
A relatively good book in the footsteps of the silent patient. However, I found it more hasty and rushed. The twist at the end I think touched the limit of the excessive and perhaps exceeded it. Nice descriptions without being tiring, it can be comfortably read in 1-2 days pleasantly.
Kαλό σχετικά βιβλίο στα πατήματα της σιωπηλής ασθενής. Ωστόσο το βρήκα πιο πρόχειρο και πιο βιαστικό. Η ανατροπή στο τέλος νομίζω άγγιξε το όριο του υπερβολικού και ίσως το ξεπέρασε. Ωραίες περιγραφές χωρίς να κουράζει διαβάζεται άνετα σε 1-2 ημέρες ευχάριστα.
I read it after first getting to know Alex Michaelides' pen through his first book, "The Silent Patient". The same motif follows here. With small letters and action. It is a punch of a novel, literally. I liked it more than his first novel. It left me with mixed feelings, not regarding the story, the suspense, the twists. In that aspect, it was a perfect ten. I just found myself thinking about various things regarding life, people, and especially about the heroes of his story. The final twist is something that I am still thinking about... the funny thing is that it had crossed my mind but I dismissed it almost immediately because I didn't believe it could happen in the end. And yet, many times life throws you off balance, makes you reflect on the connections of the people around us, on the social, friendly, and romantic relationships we develop. And perhaps the disappointment we feel from some is the path to see who truly deserves it!
