Ten years after its first publication and on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth and the 80th anniversary of the death of the Alexandrian poet C. P. Cavafy, the reference book "The Life and Works of C. P. Cavafy" is being reissued, supplemented with new information that has emerged during these years.

Within its pages, through the chronological presentation of the events of the poet's life, the reader follows the origins and development of his poetry, as well as his personal reactions to human fate, love, and death.

The book is based on the rich Cavafy bibliography and utilizes all the information that has come to light about the life and works of the poet. It records information from the "Cavafy Archive" and presents excerpts from rare magazines and hard-to-find newspapers, as well as letters.

The rich illustrations that accompany the text (photographs, sketches, cartoons, manuscripts) reconstruct the atmosphere of the time and describe the journey of Greek criticism to acknowledge and recognize the value of Cavafy's innovative poetry.

In addition, the book includes a complete bibliography of Cavafy's works and an updated selection of international literature.
