The Anemolia is a book about male friendship and escape. A group of childhood friends flees on a sailboat at the beginning of summer, leaving behind forever their previous life.
Through the adventures of the journey, the bitter humor, the unexpected events, and the oscillating memories of the narrator, the recent Greek nihilism and the turmoil of the country over the last thirty years emerge.
“Anemolia” in the language of Homer refers to the words of the wind, the futile, the pointless. In this novel, which is permeated by a continuous dialogue with the Homeric world, anemolia signifies the escape from the realm of male despair, the getaway from the stifling daily routine, and the thirst for the pursuit of youth and that beauty which transcends time.
