"The scent from our rose bushes will lead us back. We won't get lost," Drosos told Areti, even though he knew it was a lie: their rose bushes had burned along with their first life. In their new life, they live in a theater box, with a woman they don't know who claims they are her children. Their dreams and nightmares intertwine with those of the other tenants and with unknown shadows. Perhaps that's why Areti decides to live hidden inside a trunk; until one day she mysteriously disappears. A boy making a living as a market errand boy, a girl who daily sews and unravels her wedding veil in a transparent forest of blooming cherry trees, an elderly man with his qanun, a mute girl who sings, will try to help Drosos find his sister and the truth. And perhaps more than anyone, Ariel, the ethereal spirit from Shakespeare's The Tempest, will help; since when you live in a theater, life can ultimately take on many different faces. A story about loss, pain, exile, but also about the comforting power of imagination, compassion, and humanity, inspired by the real event of the settlement of Asia Minor refugees in the Athens Municipal Theater in 1922.
