Kaprka Kasabova, born in Sofia, grew up during the final years of Cold War Communism in the 1980s. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, she emigrated and has loved and hated her homeland equally since. Thirty years later, as Bulgaria joined the EU, Kapka visited her childhood country again to discover how it - and she - has changed over time. With the irreverent character of an exile, the curiosity of a visitor, and the soul of a poet, Kasabova brings to life the past and present of Bulgaria, exploring the complex connection between place and mind, geography and fate.
