This volume is the third in the Catalogue of Sculptures of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. The first and second volumes are already widely used in both Greek and foreign literature by researchers dealing with sculpture as well as the history and topography of Macedonia, and specifically Thessaloniki, during Greek and Roman antiquity.
The third volume includes 328 entries, which is significantly more than the two previous volumes; thus, the total number of published sculptures almost doubles, amounting to 665. Notably, the majority of the sculptures presented in this volume are published for the first time, which will significantly aid research into the sculpture of ancient Macedonia.
Works of sculpture from all categories are published, including free-standing and reliefs (both free and architectural), as well as several fragments; decorative sculptures and a large number of sarcophagi are also included. The sculptures are classified into two broader periods (late classical and Hellenistic, imperial and late antiquity).
