Description

[...] These speeches of our unforgettable Elder Dionysius are not written in the style of the well-known speeches of the preachers of the last sixty years, with the usual characteristics of duty, sociology, formal piety, rhetoric or literature. These speeches, as the author himself writes in a similar volume of speeches, are only "introductory chapters of faith," according to the saying of St. Cyril of Jerusalem. The purpose of the holy author is to make the word of the Gospel understood, to lead the reader to understand its content, so that he may be pedagogically guided on the path of salvation.

The main characteristics of the written texts of the blessed Archbishop Dionysius, which were read and heard on the radio, and which constitute this volume, are as follows. The first is Christocentrism, that is, that Christ is the beginning and the end for Christians, that He is the Teacher, the Savior, and the Redeemer, that He is the light, the truth, and the life of Christians. The second is the Church, which as the ark of salvation, receives, cares for, and saves the faithful through the grace and gift of its holy mysteries, which the Lord instituted. The early Christian preaching and message, that "outside the Church there is no salvation," which was approved by all subsequent conciliar and patristic tradition, is pervasive in theological, pastoral, and ecclesiological writings and in the texts "On the Wings of the Winds" by the blessed Dionysius of Kozani. The entire writing structure is, moreover, based on the teaching of the Fathers of the Church, adapted to today's reality, and through which it is determined that the existence and destiny of human existence is salvation in Christ Jesus.

(from the preface of Metropolitan Anthimos of Thessaloniki)
