Description

This book addresses a highly topical and controversial subject in Pedagogy and Education: Cooperative Group Teaching and Learning. It is a theoretical study aimed at highlighting the cooperative movement as a fundamental component of innovation for the school of the 21st century.

It is a movement that seeks to move schools out of the dead end and stagnation they currently face, to create a new school culture based on different principles and values essential for the future citizen, establishing the school of tomorrow rather than yesterday.

This monograph attempts to define the most commonly used terms, examines the transition from traditional classroom to cooperative group teaching, provides a historical overview of the movement, justifies its necessity, presents its main objectives, discusses the role of the educator, as well as the dominant models of cooperative teaching and learning. It explores epistemological perspectives and differences, benefits, and finally teachers' attitudes towards the cooperative approach.
