Description

The book highlights the geospatial issue, along with all its related subjects, questions, and problems, which constitute a structural issue for the country, from the Revolution of 1821 to the present day.

An important topic that does not engage the mainstream of historiography. A problem of timeless deviation from the European standard, which becomes understandable if one focuses on key aspects such as, for example, cartography, mapping, maps, land registration, the management of geographic information, the regulation of land use, the normalization of geospatial planning at all its functional scales – local, regional, national.

It attempts to explain the reasons for the perpetuation of the problem. The influence of the issue on cementing pathological and fearful attitudes of administration regarding land matters, which burden the state-citizen relationship and ultimately lead to unproductive and anti-development mentalities and rigidities that are incompatible with the concept and practices of a European state.

It contributes to the reflection on what kind of European state we managed to create after the Revolution of 1821, and what we have achieved 200 years later; when many issues related to technology and management concerning the geospatial realm have not yet been resolved, which are prerequisites for the development of a normal democratic state, convincingly European.
