For 30 years, Richard Kuklinski, known as the 'Iceman', lived a shocking double life: he was the top Mafia hitman in American history while hosting his neighbors at joyful family barbecues in the suburbs of New Jersey.
Richard Kuklinski was the partner of Sammy Gravano, 'the Bull', in the execution of Paul Castellano, the head of the Gambino family. The mafia boss John Gotti hired him to torture and kill the neighbor who accidentally ran over his child with his car.
For an additional fee, Kuklinski could make his victims suffer. He carried out these death contracts with chilling calmness and efficiency, never disappointing his clients. According to his own estimate, he killed more than 200 men, and he was very proud of the variety and brutality of his techniques.
This bloody career lasted for more than 30 years and had Kuklinski conducting death contracts all across the U.S. as well as in Brazil, Africa, and Europe. Along the way, he got married, had three children, and sent them to Catholic school.
His daughter's health condition required frequent stays in children's hospitals, where everyone remembered Kuklinski as a caring father, exceptionally kind to the children. Every Christmas, they found the Kuklinski house decorated with colorful lights. Every summer was a series of big parties. His family never suspected a thing.
