Me, Mr. President, I was a lost man, an alcoholic, marginal, as we often and easily say about some people. But life plays strange games. One night, tipsy from drinking, while the snow was falling and no human soul was walking down the street, I heard a cry. The cry of a baby. You know, Mr. President, what power such a cry has? It can turn the world upside down. It changed the world within me, as the poet says. Only I didn't end up in the asylum, like he did, but I regained the life I had lost.
But are there ways for someone to reclaim what they have lost in their life? Because Fonis, the hero of this touching book, had not only lost the strength to claim his role in society but also lost hope for love and the expectation of its return. And yet, while everything seemed to have ended, a new existence resurrected what he had forgotten. Or at least that’s what he thought, because behind this gift of night and snow lay not just a mysterious past, but also an adventurous future lurking.
