Four one-act plays that thematically address significant historical events of the place, such as the Revolution of 1821, the Chios Massacre of 1822, and the Asia Minor Catastrophe of 1922, are presented in a unique and subversive manner.

Dialogues, memories, narratives, and question-and-answer sessions are some of the expressive means used to revive scenes, memories, and events, at times with humor and at other times with sarcasm, always with an underlying pain.

Sakis Serefas, in a collective publication that includes the plays Hands, Flames and Iron Everywhere, History Lesson, I Remember, I Remember, I Remember – most of which have been staged or awarded – invites readers and viewers to jointly revive the aforementioned historical events, to become sensitized, and to reflect.
