The Seasonic G12 GM-Series achieves the 80 PLUS® Gold standard, providing at least 87%, 90%, and 87% energy efficiency at 20%, 50%, and 100% operating loads respectively. This efficiency, combined with Active Power Factor Correction, allows the G12 GM power supply units to reduce energy waste, translating into energy cost savings for users.

Protection Technologies
- OPP (Over Power Protection): Function that shuts down the power supply when excessive power is drawn, generally between 110 and 140% of the advertised power.
- OCP (Over Current Protection): Protects connected devices from excessive current.
- OVP (Over Voltage Protection): Over voltage protection works similarly to UVP, but in the opposite way.
- SCP (Short Circuit Protection): Short circuit protection measures the resistance on each rail and will shut down when the resistance is lower than 0.1 Ω. Generally, this is combined with OPP, OCP, OVP, and UVP.
