Description

Description

The Small Paraklitic Canon is one of the most beloved and widely used texts of our ecclesiastical literature.

With the work that follows, we aim to provide as much understanding of its meanings as possible, so that, combined with the fervor of the souls of devout Christians who turn to the help of the Theotokos, Christians will know well what they say to the Theotokos, so that their worship may be rational.

With this work, as well as with our other related works (Interpretation of the Divine Liturgy, the Akathist Hymn, etc.), we aim to assist in the teaching of the liturgical language.

Readers will find lessons in Grammar and Syntax at the end of each ode. The lessons are not systematic; they are incidental. Readers may refer to school textbooks for more information.

The translations offered at the end of each ode are not intended to replace the texts but to explain them to the reader; thus, they follow the syntactic order of the text.

I wish you happy reading.
