Description

The Orphism is the Greek way of viewing and expressing the Universal Truth and the role of man in Creation. This Greek worldview is unified in Pythagoras, Homer, Plato, the Neoplatonists, and remains authentic until today in Greek poetry, through the works of its great modern mystics, such as Odysseas Elytis and Angelos Sikelianos.

Their tool is the Greek Word, which conceals Hermetic mystical knowledge within keyword expressions that encode the grandeur of Greek thought. In this book, exploring poems from the works of Odysseas Elytis (Orientation, Axion Esti, and Helios o Protos), the connection of our Nobel laureate poet with the theologian Orpheus is demonstrated, and important concepts of Orphism are presented in an accessible way.

Elytis becomes an Orpheotelest. Every verse of his, every word, captures the outcome of an introspective journey of the soul, which occurs when its inner vision opens, the eye of the soul, and it recalls those things it had seen in the ethereal realms before its incarnation.

Through the mystical poetry of a contemporary Odysseas, the memories of the intelligible realms come alive, "the unguarded night has taken memories"!
