This work is a critical description and evaluation of the deconstructive double reading applied by Jacques Derrida to certain texts of the philosophical tradition, in order to demonstrate how the fundamental binary hierarchical oppositions of Western thought are deconstructed, shifted, or dismantled by the very text in which they are embedded.
