This book includes the texts of a series of thirty lectures at the Vasilis and Marinas Theocharakis Foundation, from late September 2010 to late May 2011, on the work Being and Time by Martin Heidegger.
This is the material of my notes, which I publish with the editing and explanatory additions necessary for the coherence and clarity of a written work that, in printed form, can no longer rely on the oral support of its 'father'.
Through these lectures and their publication, I wished to participate, to the best of my ability, in the engaging reception that younger generations of our intellectuals reserve for anything bearing the mark of the German philosopher's thought and for anything that originally expresses it.
From my own perspective, I believe that Heidegger's work must be understood, beyond its allure, in its active dimension, intertwined not only with the interwar anxiety of Europe, which nurtured the nightmares of National Socialism and communist totalitarianism, but also with post-war postmodernism, whose historical end seems to be signed by today's 'economic' crisis and its accompanying concerns.
