I have been using this 1TB SSD for quite some time now and it has truly exceeded my expectations. The read and write speeds are impressive, resulting in the system booting up in seconds and programs loading almost instantly.

The build quality is top-notch and it is clear that this is a premium product. Even during demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, and transferring large files, the performance remains stable without drops or overheating.

It runs like a bullet. When you buy it, do the necessary tests/benchmarks to see if the values match those on the market. For me, I needed to make changes in the BIOS and then I saw a 30+% increase. I have the software installed and it goes very fast in everything.

Top of the top for me. The only bad thing is that the prices have now gone out of control, otherwise I would replace the Samsung 980 Pro 1T I have as a secondary, with another 990!

After about a year of use, it has not shown any problems, it is fast and generally very reliable.

I have 6 inside an F8 SSD Plus in TRAID (10TB).
Machine guns. I haven't noticed anything negative, even at the temperature level everything is normal!

In terms of performance, it's 5/5, the only issue is that it will run hot so make sure to place it somewhere with good cooling (not under the GPU) otherwise 80 degrees will be the minimum. Generally, it starts at 40 to 50 degrees without doing anything, but if you have good cooling it will stay at 60-65.

So far it is as fast as advertised by the company. I bought the 2 TB version. Time will tell how long it will last. Don't forget, as soon as you install it, to download Samsung Magician and do a firmware update if there is one

Awesome SSD, I got the 4TB one which has a bigger DRAM cache, the speeds are what I expected, I'm coming from a 128GB SATA, huge difference, it's a weird feeling to be downloading games and heavy programs like Visual Studio on the C drive instead of my 2nd HDD hahaha

In Blender and FreeCAD I see a big difference in performance, I have models I've been designing for several months now, and it used to take quite a while to load everything from the HDD to the RAM, now everything is lightning fast, I recommend it!

The drive is excellent in every aspect. Reliable and with good software, Samsung Magician, which allows you to do everything from benchmarks to technical checks for error correction, automatic updates, cloning, and much more.

It seems to be flawless.
Shouldn't it also come with the little screw that will be screwed onto the motherboard?

update 26/08/25

A few days after using the m2, it simply stopped working and during startup the computer did not recognize it.

I tried to format it but again it was not detected. Not even in disk management.

It simply died.

I requested a return and replacement from Skroutz and I am waiting.

I did not expect this from Samsung.

I was disappointed but fortunately I did not have any files that would have needed backup.

What a pity.

I am probably the exception to the rule, but mine arrived dead. I spent hours trying to figure out why the PC wouldn't recognize it (I changed slots, updated the BIOS and did various tweaks, tried to update the firmware but even Samsung's ISO wouldn't recognize it, etc.). I conclude that I probably got a defective one. I have an older Samsung from the EVO series, very good and fast, has lasted me about 4 years without a problem. I didn't expect to get a defective batch from Samsung but now it puts me in the trouble of seeing what I can do with the warranty, etc...
Edit: I sent it back to Samsung and they repaired it for free (although I might have preferred if they had replaced it or given me my money back). A few months later it works just fine. It just made me run back and forth to the store where I bought it.

Unproblematic installation and operation so far. Flawless in speed. Definitely recommended, as no Samsung SSD or M.2 has ever let me down. I will probably get the 2TB one as well since the motherboard has 4 slots for M.2 NVMe

Very fast NVMe drive, ideal either for an operating system or for supporting applications.

It does and has what it says...the nominal prices are OK, as for many years now Samsung has been breaking it here...don't buy an air conditioner..you will cry..

Samsung is a master of NVMe drives. You pay a little extra and you can rest assured that the drive will work and run as it should. Excellent in every way!

I think my comment is unnecessary.. 980 and 990 are the best choices for m2 at this moment.. 1.5 years extremely satisfied..

The hard drive is a beast! In terms of file transfer, it has incredible speeds, also in games it doesn't lag anywhere, quick installation of applications/games, immediate response, I've been using the same one in my PC on PCI 3.0 for 4 years without problems and in my wife's PC we installed the PCI 4.0 (Very big differences in speed). VFM for me.

The biggest positive aspect of Samsung SSDs is the software, and that's why I prefer to pay a little more than for one from another company that has the same speeds. I cloned using the magician from the 980 pro that I had, and it literally became a mirror. I just changed the boot drive from the BIOS and I was ready.

I've had it for 2 years. No problems and very fast. It has never given me corruption on any scan. Plus, on the day I went to install it, it fell with its box from 1.5 meters and nothing happened to it

It has been installed as the OS SSD in my new PC (AMD 9 7900, 64 GB RAM). Reliability and speed, as always, are what Samsung can offer. I have used many SSDs from the same company over time and I have been absolutely satisfied. In my opinion, this particular one is a top and safe choice for PCI EXPRESS 4.0. Indicatively, the same PC system with the installation of the 990 PRO has increased its overall performance by at least 10% compared to the older drive from the same company (970 EVO PLUS). Of course, I can't help but add the best comments for the company's software (Magician), which is the best in its category.

UPDATE: After about 7 months, the drive has not disappointed me in terms of speed (being one of the fastest in its category), but I definitely recommend upgrading it to the latest firmware via Samsung's official software, in order to avoid issues related to proper operation and to prevent the so-called wear of the drive (you will find many references online).

The best in this category by far. The software is very easy and useful if someone needs it for some reason. If you want the best, you buy this.

Sometimes tests don't tell the whole truth. For laptop use, low power consumption and temperature matter more than performance, where all SSDs excel. In these areas, this one is not among the best (-2).

There is no reason to say anything about Samsung and its diamonds.... words are unnecessary.
The best there is, a one-way street...

I have installed it on my laptop. I have had it for over 5 years and the performance of the previous hard drive was starting to decline and it was very small. I installed it and it works very fast and the capacity, with the entire Windows operating system, provides amazing space for use. I can easily say that I recommend it.
