The Historical, the sixth volume with maps by Varnalis published by Archive Editions, contains 153 chronographs that were published in four newspapers in Athens, from 1939 to 1958.

It includes 43 pre-war chronographs, 4 wartime or occupation-related ones, and 96 from the post-war period 1950-58. These texts make direct comparisons and contrasts with the current political situation in post-war Greece.

Many of the chronographs are implicitly or explicitly political, as Varnalis uses historical examples to draw lessons for the reader. This also explains why there are very few related chronographs during the Occupation period: censorship did not allow the mention of glorious historical periods or the drawing of historical lessons.
