Do you know what the money we use is made of?
Do you understand the mechanisms of capitalism?
Did you think that Marx's "Capital" was as difficult as... Chinese? Well, here is the adaptation of this classic work into Japanese manga. Based on a simple story - a small cheese maker creates his factory - the comic describes what capitalism is.
This manga book is divided into two parts, absolutely complementary - the first deals with money and the second with the mechanisms of capital - it is a smart, entertaining, and demanding call to discover Marx's greatest work.
In the mid-19th century, the industrial revolution begins in Europe, fundamentally changing people's perceptions and ways of consumption and life. Mass production is henceforth possible, but the inequalities arising from the new economic and social practices create a huge gap. A minority of entrepreneurs benefit from the new situation, while the large mass of workers are turned into "labor force" from which the former profit.
Today, we are flooded with objects and products, we work ourselves to death, we consume more and more. And although we know that the capitalist system is doomed and will end in a crisis that will cause countless victims, we continue to close our eyes.
How do economic crises arise? How is it possible for there to be unemployment? Why all these social inequalities? Why is it necessary to question and overthrow this system?
Discover in this manga an introduction to the major work of Karl Marx, which concerns today's economic and social system: capitalism....
