Description

One week remains until Christmas, and Martin Molin, from the Tanumshede police department, is persuaded by his beloved to accompany her to a gathering of her family, which will take place according to the strict guidelines of the family patriarch Ruben on a small island near Fielbäcka.

The connection of the island to the mainland will be cut off due to a snowstorm, so when Ruben collapses during the Christmas dinner, Martin will have to take action without the help of his superior, Inspector Patrick, and his beloved Erika.

It won't be long before he concludes that it is a murder and that the killer is one of the family members.

An easy-to-read mystery book from the beloved Läckberg, a relaxing read for the cold winter days with a fast-paced plot and a twist ending à la Agatha Christie!

  • After Angel of Death, I can say that this novel seemed quite simple and fast-paced in its development. It was enjoyable to read, but I can't say that its plot was such that it held your interest. The fact that it is relatively short made it very easy to read, although the reader quickly realized what had happened. The characters move quite awkwardly and unnecessarily many times during the course of the story. I believe that the characters were not adequately developed by the author and that the atmosphere that would captivate the reader was not created. There are scenes where it seems completely normal to have two bodies in the freezer of a hotel unit and the rest of the family continues their lives between sandwiches and coffees... I truly believe that the author's publishing house forced her to present her work quickly and she simply wrote a story that anyone of us could have written... I expected something better, but I'm not despairing! I believe that Camilla Lackberg has shown her worth in other works.
