Description & Specifications

1919 was a pivotal year for all of humanity. The Paris Peace Conference marked the end of World War I and created a new political landscape through the devastation brought about by the war.

All the countries involved in the war, both victors and vanquished, faced the painful consequences, and in light of the new conditions, they redefined their priorities.

In this book, prompted by the aforementioned Peace Conference, the Franco-Greek relations during the first two decades of the 20th century are explored, with an emphasis on the relations between the two countries during World War I.

The special bond of Eleftherios Venizelos with France is examined, along with the bilateral economic transactions and their role in the development of Greece, as well as the French influences in shaping institutions and legislation.

Finally, the Greek-French cultural interactions and mediations are analyzed.
