The poet Alexandros Angelou (1883-1980) - (Professor at A.S.O.E.E. since its establishment - 1920)
SIX WORKS IN THE ARMENIAN-VLACH LANGUAGE - YEAR 1903
THE SOUL'S DEPOSIT OF A GREEK-VLACH-ARMAN
THE ARMENIAN GREEKNESS OF UPPER MACEDONIA
The poet Alexandros Angelou (1883-1980), with his highly significant work - contained in this volume and published for the first time - does not fit into any category of writers who have dealt with and written in the Armenian Vlach language.
He is a remarkable exception, for at the age of 18-22 years he wrote the masterpieces at hand, with the logic of a PhD in linguistics, a science he subsequently studied. The total number of primary Armenian words he used exceeds 6,000!
Moreover, all the themes of the lives of the Armenians Greek-Vlachs are presented and analyzed through the prismatic lens called woman. His work is a hymn to the Arman - Vlach (Vhisisa), rightfully highlighting her as the captain of the ship called "Vlach life, history, and culture."
Such evident love, such a giant respect, such enchanting adoration for women, in all their forms (mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother) and in all their earthly, divine, and metaphysical actions, I have not encountered in other writers, novelists, or poets, from our country or abroad.
I consider myself very lucky to have the honor of studying the manuscripts of Alexandros Angelou's work and the honor of editing and publishing this volume at hand.
