"Listen to the Lion" is the portrait of an Athenian family. The story of the Leontarides resembles the story of their neighborhood, Fokionos Negri, which in the 1960s and 1970s was known by the name Via Veneto. Later, everything went wrong, almost everything: the Leontarides split into hostile factions and had their share of pain, illness, mistakes, and disappointment. Fokionos Negri declined along with the Leontarides. In this novel, the sudden death of Elias brings to the survivors' memory a festive childhood – in the city center and up to the Go-kart track on the Athenian Riviera – and all the lost hopes of their youth.
