The second book in the series and the novella "Fracture Me" kept me company these past few days, and I admit I finished it quite quickly! Intrigue, secrecy, and a world reminiscent of Divergent, Hunger Games, or Maze Runner. Politics, plot twists, regulations—a mess in the New Governance. A lyrical, psychological style of writing that unfortunately will not suit many, as was the case for me. I would give it 2 to 3 stars because I found it quite strange, but at the same time, I want to see what happens next.
I must say that although I was excited and eagerly awaited the series to be translated, the first book did not win me over 100% as I found it quite slow and in diary format. Generally, so far I have found that it is a series that builds up quite slowly and with a lot of detail in the world-building and the protagonists' characters. Personally, it’s not something I prefer, but it doesn’t bother me either. In the second book of the series, Juliette gradually finds herself and discovers her powers at Omega Point, while she develops relationships and friendships and grows as a character. Personally, I still find her annoying and I definitely don’t like Adam, but I loved the world-building and the dystopia of the book! Also, I liked the scenes with Warner so much that I was looking for him on every page! It is definitely a better book than the first, much fuller with characters, suspenseful and dystopian scenes, while the relationships seem stronger and are developing.
