The Butterfly's Magic is the first play by Federico García Lorca, where love and death become one and the comedy as he himself calls it, turns into a dark poetic drama.

It is an allegorical story where, through the struggle of a wounded butterfly to fly and a love-struck beetle to transform, Lorca suggests redemption through art.

The author, again, chooses insects as his protagonists to signify the value of every existence and to emphasize its unity.
