Locanda is the hotel of sleep and food, something like our own guesthouses. In such a locanda, the comedy unfolds: a setting that reminds us of the "Babylon" of Byzantium. Only here, the main character is a woman, the full of charm and grace Mirandolina (her name means "wonderful"), and all the action revolves around her.
Almost all the male characters in the comedy are connected to her, while the two actresses enter to facilitate the action; they give the opportunity for the two lovesick men to step away from the Innkeeper for a moment, just enough time for her to wrap up the "Sir Knight." Only this "wild man" has fallen into this situation from another world, where initially, straightforwardness takes the lead, but then swords and daggers follow at the first misstep.
Fortunately, the Innkeeper managed to find herself protected in this difficult moment, so the play does not end in an amorous tragedy.
