Man is the measure of all things

As a nation and society, as well as on an individual level, we are going through a difficult and uphill turning point in our history. The global, European, and Union climate is bleak. This is because most of us have linked and dependent our well-being, beyond the minimum necessary for dignified survival, on its economic dimension.

The principles of freedom, independence, and democracy, the love for the environment, for nature, love, care, and interest for our fellow human beings, the joy of volunteering and giving, the joy of life in general, through a conscious comparative observation of the level and quality of life of neighboring peoples and others, e.g., Egyptians, Iraqis, Afghans, etc., with their ancient civilizations that predate our own, all of these achievements that are gained and gained daily through continuous struggles and self-awareness, no longer bring us smiles.

One wonders why they are not enough for the most optimistic contemplation of the rainbow of life? Because everything depends on, is manipulated, and is directed by the markets and stock exchanges based on the value of money, which is inextricably linked to individual hedonism and greed, which has now become the dominant measure for the hope of tomorrow.

We must all realize that what we are experiencing now as co-actors, within this decaying landscape, is not a trial run for us to repeat the scene over and over again to achieve the best possible outcome. Now, what we experience is lived only once, forever and irrevocably, and we owe it to the good of us all, and for ourselves, to fill our hearts with the everlasting song of gratitude for creation, our existence, and life.
