The 2nd International Conference of Pontic Research, organized by Saint George Peristereota, the Pontian Club of Thessaloniki, and the Care of Pontian Women, with the multifaceted and active support of the Regional Authority of Drama, successfully concluded its proceedings on September 29, 2008.

Today, with the end of 2009, and the publication of the Proceedings, it makes available to the wider scientific community the presentations of the scholars who honored it with their participation.

I hope that soon, even if belatedly, the publication of the Proceedings from the previous Scientific Symposium on Pontus (January 30 - February 1, 2004) will follow, in which the distinguished scholars were Anthony Bryer, emeritus professor of Byzantine History at the University of Birmingham and founder of the Center for Byzantine, Ottoman, and Modern Greek Studies at the same university, and Odysseas Lamsidis, a distinguished Pontic researcher, and for many years the President of the Committee of Pontic Studies (+ 2006).
