I got it as a gift for someone who insisted that the simple Powerlock is better than the Tylon. I tried it before wrapping it in the gift box.
So, comparison with the Tylon, which I gave 5 stars despite the one unique disadvantage I found.
The Blade Armor doesn't seem better than the Tylon; the tape already has marks from wrapping and unwrapping both at the end with the Blade Armor and on the rest of the measure with Mylar. It doesn't lock in the open position of the brake. It breaks at 260 instead of 240 of the Tylon (190 for both if you hold it vertically to the ground). While it has a suitable squared shape for indoor measurements, it writes the block size in inches (2½ inches = 6.35 centimeters) on top. I opened it to 260 to test where it breaks, and the rewind mechanism started to creak.
I don't think it's as good as the cheaper Tylon, except for a single block above the three rivets that hold the end in place (as opposed to Tylon's three plain rivets or the two rivets that other measures have). It barely reaches the simple yellow plastic of Stanley. For the same money, you can get two Tylons or a metal Fatmax Xtreme which I think has stopped production.

I had the 5 meters for many years and when I needed a larger one, I got the same series. Good, durable, and economical. I really like the retractable system that locks in three positions (open, standby, closed). It breaks at 240 (190 if you hold it vertically to the ground).
It has only one flaw: (The 5 meters does not indicate the size of the tape itself (for internal measurements), and its shape does not seem suitable for internal measurements.) Edit: The parentheses were wrong. I found the 5 meters I bought in 2010 and it says 2 ¾ in on top but also 71mm. The 8 meters says 3 ⅛ inches on top, while the tape measure is in centimeters. Now good luck remembering that this is 7.938 centimeters. They could at least write it on the tape measure. If I manage, I will go and engrave it on the metal blade of the tape. As a matter of fact, this probably changes from batch to batch.

Είχα πολλά χρόνια το 5 μέτρα και όταν χρειάστηκα μεγαλύτερο πήρα την ίδια σειρά. Καλό, ανθεκτικό, και οικονομικό. Μου αρέσει πολύ το σύστημα επαναφοράς που κλειδώνει σε τρία σημεία (ανοιχτό, standby, κλειστό). Σπάει στα 240 (190 αν το κρατάς κάθετα στο έδαφος).

The new version of this measure is with a plastic casing that mimics the metallic appearance. The brake does not lock well on the plastic and it is bulkier. If you find old stock metal ones of 8 and 10 meters, hurry to get them.

A meter vfm. Readable numbers, wide blade, looks sturdy. Perhaps the blade's stop scrolling system could be better as small indentations (relatively imperceptible) are created on the blade with use. For the money, you would buy it again without hesitation.
