It’s some Triodio from the 1970s. A student from the Philosophy School disembarks in Hydra equipped with a tape recorder, a camera, and a questionnaire. Her mission is to conduct field research for her Folklore course.
She feels like Don Quixote embarking on an adventure. Only, Don Quixote steps out into a world he no longer recognizes, where truths are scattered and ambiguous, while she feels that she holds the truths of the small island community, having roots from the island and having spent all her summers there.
However, she will be disillusioned. Life is more ambiguous than it seems. Issues such as happiness, desire, poverty, the role of women, social validation, loneliness and marginalization, the amalgamation of individual and collective memory, the relationship between traditional and modern society will be raised.
