Description

Diameter: 3mm (1/8')

Thickness: 0.5mm (1/64')

Quantity: 100

Magnetism: N52

Pulling Forces: 60g (magnet to magnet)

Material: NdFeB

Coating: Nickel-plated (Ni-Cu-Ni)

Neodymium magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet available commercially. They have replaced other types of magnets in many modern products that require powerful permanent magnets.

References N35 and N52 indicate the quality of the magnet material. The higher the grade (the number following 'N'), the stronger the magnet. This measurement explains two things:

  • The amount of "magnetic energy" per volume contained in this magnet material
  • The maximum temperature at which the magnet can be used

Magnets starting with "N" can be used up to 80°C (176°F). The highest grade of neodymium magnet currently available is N52.

The power difference between two magnets of different sizes and magnetizations mainly comes from differences in their volume rather than their magnetization. Therefore, larger magnets are generally stronger, even if their magnetization rating is slightly lower.

Pulling Forces: Expected pulling forces based on extensive product testing. Surface field data are valid only for points along the center of the magnet and assume a single magnet in free space.

For use in wargames and miniatures, the following magnets are recommended:

  • Neodymium Magnet - 3x0.5mm, for exchanging weapons, heads, hands, etc.
  • Neodymium Magnet - 3x1mm, for exchanging weapons, heads, hands, etc.
  • Neodymium Magnet - 3x2mm, for plastic miniature bases.
  • Neodymium Magnet - 5x2mm, for metal miniature bases.
