The neodymium magnet is the strongest type of permanent magnet available commercially. They have replaced other types of magnets in many applications that require strong permanent magnets. The N35 and N52 ratings measure the quality of the magnet material: the higher the grade, the stronger the magnet.
Neodymium magnets should be used up to 80°C (176°F). The highest grade currently available is N52. Typically, a larger magnet is the strongest, even if its magnetic rating is slightly lower.
Pulling forces: expected pulling forces based on extensive product testing, apply only to points along the central axis of the magnet and assume a single magnet in free space.
Suggestions for use with wargames and miniatures:
- Neodymium magnet - 3x0.5mm, for swapping weapons, heads, arms, etc.
- Neodymium magnet - 3x1mm, for swapping weapons, heads, arms, etc.
- Neodymium magnet - 3x2mm, for plastic bases of miniatures.
- Neodymium magnet - 5x2mm, for metal bases of miniatures.
