I have been a owner for three months and a music lover. I wanted a good entry-level audiophile headphone with good build quality that would withstand the test of time, as the entry-level Sennheiser HD300 series did not last long. With that being said:

The negatives:

- The sound signature of these headphones is not for audiophiles who prefer atmospheric, warm, neutral, medium range sound that favors vocals and orchestral music. Those who are looking for that should consider open back headphones or Sennheiser 500, 600 series. I am surprised that some say it lacks bass. I consider them headphones for bassheads and EDM music.
- It has a nonexistent soundstage, and because it is an analytical headphone for mixing, you reach a point of listening that gives you a headache. If you just want to enjoy the sound, it is not for listening. Some forums recommend the M40x as a better overall headphone. Save some money.
Personally, I was extremely disappointed when I first got them. Read below what I did in case you bought them and are stuck with them.

- They do not fit well on large ears and heads. I solved this by using larger earpads.

The positives:
- Excellent imaging, capturing even the smallest sound. Useful for mixing.
- Excellent build quality. Made to withstand time, with replaceable parts in case something breaks.
- Soundstage: Thankfully, due to the replaceable parts, something can be done. Personally, I opened the headphones and removed a cotton ring from the driver. And magically, the headphones have a soundstage while maintaining their characteristic bass. The headphone goes from a 5/10 to easily an 8/10 in sound after this modification, making it an excellent all-rounder.

After years and now having other headphones to do my job, I decided to leave a review for one of the most well-known headphones.
The build quality is mediocre, especially the plastic parts, which are inferior compared to Beyer, Senn, Focal, Bose, and Sony headphones that I own. There are several creaks over time, and the earpads are of poor quality. In my opinion, they should be replaced immediately with Dekoni or Yaxi pads. In addition to the quality issue, there is also the durability problem. The awful leather they have breaks within a short period of time.

In terms of sound:
A) For studio use, these headphones are not suitable, and this is clearly evident from the frequency response (FR) that you will see. There are spikes all over, muffled mids, overly bright highs, and excessive mid-high bass for monitoring. If you want monitoring headphones, then go for the Audio-Technica R70X, which are flat and have the necessary 5K spike to identify the flaws you want, or the DT 770 Pro, DT 880 Pro 600ohm, which are cheaper and definitely more suitable for monitoring. The Focal Listen Pro headphones also surpass these.

B) For home music listening, you want something comfortable, with good vocal reproduction, and not a large soundstage. Velour earpads are recommended. Unfortunately, even in this aspect, the M50X headphones do not perform well. The mids and vocals are nowhere to be found. I would recommend the AKG K371 and HD 569, which are warm and without exaggerations. If you want to step up your game, then go for the Meze 99 Classic for closed-back or the HD 600, 650, 660s for open-back.

C) Let's move on to gaming. Here, you need two things: soundstage and imaging. It is well-known that the M50X headphones are not good in either of these aspects. If you want a large soundstage from closed-back headphones, then the DT770 Pro 80ohm is the way to go (although I would never recommend closed-back headphones for gaming because they lack the soundstage and imaging of open-back headphones). If you want open-back headphones, then go for the HD 599, Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X, or the AKG 612, 701, 702.

Finally, I must say that not everything is negative. Obviously, for them to sell for so many years and be liked by many, it means they are doing something right. In my opinion, what they do well is:

- DJ use, as this V-shaped frequency response (FR) is the best for DJs to mix in a noisy environment. In such cases, you need strong bass and piercing highs. It is no coincidence that all DJ headphones have such an FR, for example, the HD 25. They also have good sound isolation, thanks to the leather pads, and they are very portable since you can fold them and put them in your bag. Additionally, the drivers are very durable, as I have not heard of anyone with a broken driver.

And finally, the most important thing is that they have a sound profile that is full of excitement when someone who has no experience with headphones listens to them for the first time. They definitely impress, just like they did with me when I first heard them. However, in practice, someone who is not a casual listener will always feel that something is missing, that something is not right.

PS. For DJs, these headphones are easily 4 out of 5 stars. However, for all other uses, they do not perform well.

Before I start the evaluation, you need to know that these headphones are closed-back, over-ear, and their main use is for studio purposes, but they also work well as all-around headphones.

The headphones are flat, meaning that the sound you hear does not have any effects (bass boost, high boost, studio mode, hall mode, etc.). The low frequencies, specifically from 20-80hz, sound a bit harsh. The mid frequencies are quite good, and the high frequencies are also fine. As for the sound image and sound stage, I would recommend them more for vocalists because they have a center-focused character. The headphones, as the company states, are for studio, mixing, DJ monitoring, and everyday use. Personally, I would consider them headphones that, with different earpads, are suitable for DJ monitoring, recordings, and mixing, although I would highly recommend them for mixing/mastering. Pay attention to the bass as it can sound a bit harsh.

Regarding their construction, I want to say that they are very high-quality and you feel like you're holding expensive, good headphones. Nice fabric, they have a metal construction where they embrace the head, and they are flexible. The only downside in their construction, I would say, is that they have a very large frame, which can be a small issue for small heads. Another downside they have is the earpads, which are very thin and do not allow the sound to escape before reaching your ear, but you can replace them with others if you search.

They come with three cables. One 3-meter spiral cable, one straight 3-meter cable, and one 1.2-meter cable. The cables are detachable from the headphones, and they are of very high quality.

As for gaming, if you mind that they don't have a microphone, you can get an extension with a microphone. Because they have satisfactory sound stage and image, you can perceive depth and direction correctly. In explosions, their bass is harsh, and their highs have a bit of a violent sound, but overall they are very good. Their dynamic range is quite good.

Final conclusions. The headphones are quite good for sound analysis, DJing, mixing, and they are ideal for vocalists. All the negative points I mentioned about the bass are minor details that you won't notice if you're not involved with sound, and they will seem very good headphones for their price, although the BeyerDynamic DT770 pro headphones are much better and have the same price.

A fair opinion: they are very good in terms of price/quality ratio.

4/5 stars because the negatives I found are the earpads, which are very thin and not comfortable after many hours of use. Also, personally, I would prefer the detachable cables to be 3.5mm and 3.5mm jacks instead of 1.2mm and 3.5mm.

I am addressing those who are buying headphones for the first time.

You will see many reviews for these headphones, both good and mediocre.

One thing I understood is that...

If you are someone who has experience with good headphones and has tried other headphones of similar price or higher, you will say that they didn't live up to the hype because there are other headphones with better sound at a slightly higher price. If you are new to audio and headphones, you will find these headphones wonderful as you haven't tried others and as a point of comparison, you have earbuds that cost 10 to 20 euros.. My point is: If you sit and read detailed reviews about headphones, you won't get anywhere or if you do, you will end up with very expensive headphones. While these headphones are at a very good price and with very good sound.

As first headphones at this price, they are very good.

Cons: they warm up the ear very slightly, of course I am indoors with central heating so it might be better in a colder environment.
and at first, you might find the sensation on the top of the head a bit strange but you get used to it.

Meaning the first time I put them on, not having worn over-ear headphones for years, I found the pressure on the top a bit strange.

Don't worry, there is space for the ear.. I say this because someone said they could also be on-ear headphones.

Well, now the headphones have been in my possession for 3 years, I mainly use them with Spotify on my mobile, tablet, laptop, and desktop computer with Sound Blaster Z:

They produce amazing sound, specifically good bass and very good highs, they have a slight loss in the midrange but for their price (back then) when I bought them for 160€, I have absolutely no complaints.

They don't tire out with prolonged use.

In terms of durability, they have nothing to fear, I have mishandled them quite a bit in terms of drops and stretching and they haven't suffered at all. The only complaint I have is that after 2.5 years, the "leather" ear cushions of the headphones started to fray, resulting in the frayed pieces sticking around the ears. Now only the fabric remains without the leather... something that will probably make them sweat after an hour of listening, especially on hot days.

Ease of transportation and storage during trips.

At the current price of 117€, they are a very good proposition for mid-range headphones. Perhaps with a little more attention, the problem with the cushions could have been avoided.

After so many positive reviews that I read and being disappointed by the Razer Kraken and Corsair Void Pro, wanting something more, I also bought them. From the packaging itself, you can tell that it is something premium and professional. The package includes 3 connection cables and the headphones. As for the headphones, they don't tire me even after wearing them continuously for 3 hours, and they have good noise isolation. Also, something good that I noticed is that you don't sweat easily even with prolonged use. I plugged them into the motherboard and thought, okay, the sound is just nice, on an MSI Z370 Pro Carbon. As soon as I plugged them into a sound card, they skyrocketed, completely different, now you can hear sounds that you couldn't hear before. I really hear songs that I've been listening to for years and suddenly discover that there are other sounds that I didn't hear. Of course, you also need good song quality, for example from Spotify. It was combined with a Soundblaster Z sound card. Take them with closed eyes, even if you use them on a laptop alone, the sound quality and comfort are unmatched. I constantly carry them with me and use them on my phone and Mac. Buy them without fear.
