444 BC. The golden age of Pericles reaches its peak. The city of Athens enjoys the benefits of peace and democracy. However, as the Olympic Games approach, the glorious city is disturbed by attacks from unknown assailants. The famous courtesan Klepsydra, who excelled in her youth as the lover of illustrious Athenians, is found murdered in the courtyard of her luxurious brothel. Attacks follow against prominent athletes who will participate in the upcoming Olympic Games, resulting in their serious injuries. The Athenians are alarmed, and Pericles, to calm their fears, assigns his childhood friend, Inspector Dionysius, a former general and prominent member of the democratic party, to solve the mystery.
