One of the most important works of the Western canon and a top psychological study of human existence, Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment is presented in a new theatrical adaptation by Thanasis Triaridis.

Raskolnikov, a student who believes that intellectual and moral superiority justifies anyone committing crimes for the good of humanity, murders an elderly usurer in a move of "altruism" that will rid society of a greedy and malicious individual. Remorse for this act comes after a labyrinthine journey, and redemption takes the form of a young prostitute, Sonia.

"Dostoevsky is the zero point of world culture – the narrow ring of the hourglass that is overturned," says author Thanasis Triaridis, adding that "Crime and Punishment is the heart of Dostoevsky – and the most critical text of all Western literature."
