Description

Description

The book you hold in your hands is a wonderful commemorative album that includes the history of the AEK football team from its founding to the present day. It is a work unlike any that has been published before. The journey begins in early 2024 and goes back in time to the distant year of 1924, the year AEK was founded.

The Greeks of Constantinople, who were expelled from their ancestral lands following the Greco-Turkish War of 1922, decided in 1924 to establish a Club in Athens that would remind them of their lost homelands and the culture of thousands of years, keeping alive the customs, values, and traditions of the Greek refugees. As the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew aptly stated, "AEK is an idea and ideas never die!”

The book includes informative details about the competitive periods of 100 years, with special emphasis on the team's great victories in the derby matches of the Greek Championship, in Cup finals, and in European games. Additionally, it presents the biographies of all the great football players who made history at AEK, lists the names of all the players (in alphabetical order and by position) who wore its jersey in official matches, and references the contributions of its most significant Presidents and those who helped write this great history.

An historical document with numerous photographs that have captured the truth and frozen time. Older fans of AEK will feel emotion reading the glorious history, while younger ones will have the opportunity to learn about both known and unknown facts of their beloved team through this historical review.

A book that should be read by all AEK fans.

Because it is different to be AEK!
