Description

RED PEPPER (PAPRIKA) SWEET IA HUNGARY No120 (ASTA 120)

Red paprika is one of the most common spices in our kitchen, essential for enhancing the flavor of most dishes. It is used to season and color rice, stews, soups, as well as in the preparation of meat products combined with other spices. It is often sprinkled raw as a garnish, though its flavor is better released when cooked with olive oil.

Red paprika is essential in Hungarian cuisine, as in the recipe for chicken paprika or goulash. The “ASTA 120” quality paprika powder is uniformly ground with a consistent appearance and suitable particle size, having a red or yellowish-reddish color with a typical aroma and taste.

Ideal Storage: Paprika powder requires storage in a cool, dark, and dry place in appropriate packaging material.

The History of Paprika: Peppers are native to Mexico and have been cultivated for thousands of years. In the 16th century, they were introduced to Europe, and in Hungary, paprika began to be used when the dispute between Europeans and Ottomans interrupted the "road" of black pepper. The Hungarians invented the machine that removes the veins and seeds for the production of sweet paprika.

  • Superior paprika powder - +4.00g/kg - +130 ASTA

  • Refined sweet paprika powder - 3.00-3.49g/kg - 100-109 ASTA
  • Rose paprika powder - 2.00-2.99g/kg - 60-99 ASTA

The difference between pepper and paprika is significant as each has its own characteristics and flavor profiles.
