Ouzo Plomari, with its characteristic taste and unique aroma, contains soft water from the sources of the Sedounta River, Lisvori anise, fennel from Northern Evia, star anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, extracts of Chios mastic, various other herbs from the land of Lesvos, and salt from the salt pans of Kalloni, Lesvos.
It uses grain distillate as its base and is flavored through the process of distillation in copper stills, with herbs and seeds, with anise being the dominant one that gives it this characteristic taste.
This anise-flavored distillate was so loved by both Greeks and foreigners that it became known as the national drink of our country. Today, its name and origin are protected by the European Union, which means it cannot be produced anywhere else but in Greece.
